Instead of using an expensive shampoo like Nioxin or a drying shampoo like Head and Shoulders, use Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. You can usually find them on sale and combo'd together. The problem is shampoo's like head and shoulders is they dry it out even more(which causes flaking) and makes your hair feel like crap. So you have dry flaky scalp and straw hair. Nioxin is more for people loosing there hair and needing to cleanse for re-growth of new hair. Nioxin will work but a bottle will cost you $ 35-50 depending on where you buy it. Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner will "balance" your scalp and still keep your hair nice at a reasonable price.

In half cup of luke warm water mix lemon juice(1 lime), and 1tsp honey. Rub the mix on your scalp and then wash off with antidandruff shampoo. Do this very alternate day and once a week use good contitioning shampoo for mormal hair.

You can also go for ozone treatments at any beauty salon. If dandruff is too much consult a dermatologist.
All the best

I know that washing your often can give u dandruff, so if u do limit yourself to washing your hair 2 or 3 times a week, for the dandruff use freshly squeezed lemon, or buy a product that is suitable for your hair type. I also have oily hair, i use revlon - flex it keeps my hair smooth and silky and dandruff free, also u should seek the advise from your hair sytlist, that way you have an answer from an expert. Many good products, T-gel is good, tea tree is good, read the label if it Say's for control of dandruff it should work. If that is of no help you may have psoriasis in which your doctor may need to recommend an prescription if one of these products is not effective.

dandruff in many cases is caused by build up of store bought cleansing products. Get Nioxin from a hair and beauty salon, it will clean the scalp and remove scaly build up from the scalp.

T-gel is what my grandmother's doctor recommended for her. It makes your hair smell like tar and sulfur though, so follow up with some herbal essences or something, lol
