You can check in on-line and print your boarding pass.

Most airlines use e-tickets these days. There are no longer any paper tickets on most routes. Most airlines will charge a fee for providing paper tickets. With e-tickets, you only need to provide proof of ID to get your boarding pass. There is nothing to lose. If you have a paper ticket and lose it, you may be screwed as some will not be replaced if lost.

I not quite sure about the ticket. But if you can use carry-ons instead of checked bags. Trust me

You probably have to check in here first: http://usair.com/awa/

most places only allow you to check in online no more than 24 hours prior to your flight.
