Congratulations John! This is great progress in your life and significant progress, at that! Nobody can possibly like living on the streets. For you to appreciate even something as simple as a creek means you know what's really real. Outside my window to the left and right of me is a parking lot. When I was a homeowner, I had a huge fir tree in my front yard. I would sit on my porch every morning and watch the birds, squirrels, etc. They are beautiful creatures that we can certainly learn from. The dew was still on the grass and the sun was still making its way upward into the sky. Having lived in Los Angeles, I missed the blue skies and white clouds - but living here in the south - they are plentiful and I love them. So - I understand. Even with the parking lots - there are sprinkles of trees, birds that actually nest right beside my porch (I provide water and food for them) and on my patio and porch - plenty of flowers, children riding bikes, people out working, mothers with strollers pushing babies, the smell of someone barbequing....I love what I see. I can always find something good the Lord has done and be glad in it.

Usually i can. Being winter in Australia its the bluest skies in the world during the day, but right at this moment there are a bunch of drunk teenagers speaking utter shite, screaming, crying, giggling & posing on the street right outside my house!
After letting it go for a long time (hell i was one of them once & its Friday night) i HAD to go out & yell "Hey! shut the f*ck up!"
As I did, i saw one young girl throw up on her shoes & in her hair which i gotta admit was pretty funny but I don't wanna see that after I just ate a half litre tub of yogurt.

For the moment I can look out the window and think "wow, its beautiful outside." Yet when I actually walk outside the reality is ruined by extreme heat and humidity so high it fogs my glasses.
