Just try to be aware of what your options are on the menus. If there is salad, fruit, or grilled chicken just stick to those in fast food places. The other thing to watch is what comes with it. Don't get the combo's. Don't get mayo on sandwich, always ask for whatever low fat dressing they have for your salad, don't get caramel to dip your apples. Also pay attention to your drinks, they're packed with junk and calories - Just order water when you eat out so that you don't make a habit of treating yourself when you do. Leave the junk drinks for home when you can think more reasonably about wether you really want one. Go to the store (take your time comparing) and find a bar with highest protein, lowest cal. Keep ONE in your purse for those days they want to go get pizza. If you get one over 230 cal you can replace a meal, under is good for snacking. I get Power Bars Harvest bars.10g protein,5g fiber, 240 cal. A lot of the time I'll munch on it during the day as a snack and not eat the whole thing at once. It's filling, gives you a little energy, and actually tastes good.

If you can bring in pizza or subway why can't you bring your lunch? When you have a day off cook chicken breasts and use them in a sandwich for lunch with tomatoes, lettuce, and other stuff that's healthy. Make your lunch the night before and put it in the fridge. Add fruit, low fat popcorn is great as a snack. You need to take care of yourself and prepare your food at home.

First, Subway isn't a bad choice for lunch, just stay away from the greasy types of sandwiches. Grilled chicken and cold cut trio are good.
And there *must* be some other type of restaurant where you are other than fast food joints. Most supermarkets have a ready-to-eat counter with a salad bar.

Okay, as a girl in the same situation I suggest that you make a lunch the night before so it is ready to go the next morning. If that is not possible then still go to the fast food places but get a salad or a healthier version of something they have. Try chicken sandwichs without the mayo.

Almost all fast food restaurants offer a few healthier items on their menu. If they didn't, they lose the ability to market to health conscious individuals. Subway is actually pretty good, just get the wheat or whole grain bun, and have them put your dressing or condiment on the side that way you control the amount applied. If its a pizza place, ask if they have salads, again, dressing on the side. You can even ask that they put things like cheese in a little cup on the side.

If you have a refrigerator at work I recommend yogurts at least. If a microwave is available, soups too. You could also make salads to take to work...either veggie ones or tuna.
If the fridge and microwave is not available at work, then when you order out, order a tuna sandwich minus the bread...unless they have whole grain bread on the menu. Most places also have salads or fruit plates. You can eat in some fast food places, you just have to know what to order.

If you must eat fast food, pick your entrees carefully! Subway is great, have turkey breast and ask for lots and lots of veggies, have the baked chips and diet soda or iced tea. Large salads are great with your choice of meat. For chinese, stick to beef or chicken with mixed veggies, stay away from ANYTHING fried! If you must have rice, have brown or white and not too much of it. Otherwise bring food from home that you prepared and you know does not have a high fat content. Lots of deli's have fresh fruit cups and pre-cut veggies. If you crave a food, always choose the lower fat lower calorie version.

Pack healthy snacks to eat all day long so you're not starving. Bring fruits and veggies and whenever you get hungry, eat some!! That way you can make it home without a fast food run.
