If you are serious about the 'remove the shoes' aspect; see also Joshua 4 or 5. where Joshua was told to remove his sandals also. A larger issue may be the following. Christ told his followers to have 'two or more witnesses' to establish a fact; (Matt. 18:16), (Paul also in 2 Cor. 13:1). (The Jews had the same principal, mentioned about three times between Deut. 10-20.If one applies that principal, along with 2 Tim. 3:16-17, the old testament is the law of Moses; not Genesis-Malachi.

That is quite an interpretation. A burning bush tells Moses 4000 years ago to take off his sandals in a specific place...and you interpret this to mean I can't wear shoes in the church.

This is precisely why Christians are regularly mocked...please stop.

The church building is not a "holy place." It's a convenient place for people to come together. In the Bible, the word "church" refers to the called-out, obedient people of God, not a building.

There have been times when I have removed my shoes but only at the alter when I feel the spirit of the Lord. If I am sitting in my seat I remove them when my toes hurt from standing in heals too long.

It also says a woman should cover her head. I don't do that either but they do in some cultures.

God was speaking to Moses at that specific time - not commanding people for all time to literally take off our shoes in church. I do think that people should have more respect in church than they do, as far as dress is concerned.

In my culture we take our shoes off, even when entering our homes or even homes we visit. You will find alot of Polynesian cultures do. and it makes sense too cause if some one had **** under their shoes or mud i wouldnt want them walking through my house, and also when we have church at our meeting houses

And u don't need to go to a church to believe, god is everywhere isnt he?

Stolen shoes and smelly feet, that and a lot of rules don't get followed. For a complete list, check out leviticus.

Yuck! Think of all the foot fungus!

Selective implementation of the Bible. Gotta love it!
