You got to supply a password if it asks for one, where did you get the file from? Go there and ask or look for password. Good luck!

Surely
1.It was saved with password when it was zipped or rared.
2. If it an old file which originally belonged to you, then try recollecting the passwords which you were using during those days.
3. Else if it is not important just bin it, if important then tools are available at few crack sites which let you burst those passwords. Anyway

U cant open those files unless u have the password
there are software that can retrieve the password

Nothing legally you can do except ask the person you got the file from for the password.
Anything else is a violation of the law. and PS, this forum has random monitoring.
