They are all Judaic-derived faiths and as such one would expect that their God be one and the same (even if the "message" has been transformed / evolved). And yet the Christian notion of trinity seems to be in diametrical contrast to the others!

*****john s - Do something positive with your life besides insulting others for no apparent reason. Did you even understand what the question was all about, or are you simply here to act "all knowing and cute"? It's certainly your prerogative not to agree with my point of view, it is even your privilege to be rude and insulting if your "street" upbringing so demands, but try to at least address the question. Next time, say something of value, speak your opinionated “streetwise” mind; but don't let your unprovoked impertinence and demonstrated ignorance speak volumes about your character (or lack thereof, for that matter).

Yes the Islamic view is much closer to the Judaic view. The Christian view does not fit in well and is probably the leading factor in why Christians stopped praying in Synagogues. For about the first century of Christianity they attended services in Jewish Synagogues. As the concept of the Trinity formed and Jesus' god-ship the break between the two faiths were cemented.

there is basically one God who's Jehovah! even however there are a number of distinctive biased variations of god which includes Christianity (because of the fact Jesus isn't God)! one ingredient i like with regard to the Baha'i faith is they suspect in a destiny Messiah as do the Jews and Muslims(and doubtless some others)! they suspect in the two Jesus and the destiny Messiah who's in Zechariah 4 & Rev. 11. Christianity is fake because of the fact they think of that Jesus is the only Messiah!

The Jews couldn't possible believe in the trinity the way Christians do because they don't believe in the divinity of Christ. Same thing with Muslims. They all acknowledge Jesus as a prophet, but not the Son of God.

That is true.
Actually, the "trinity" is not a true christain concept, as far as scripture is concerned. It is a man-made doctrine.
The original disciples/apostles were strict monotheistic Jews. That never changed. They understood who Jesus Christ really was. Compare Matt.28:19 with Acts 2:38. Peter did not err or disobey Jesus' command.

The Qur'an, Surah V 51 says; O you who believe! do not take the Jew and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
In the Qur'an's Surah IX, v.30 it also says: And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!
Islam teaches Muslims to hate and destroy Jews and Christians. It is not a religion of love and tolerance for their brother human beings. They are to "Strike the infidel at the neck"

Not diametrical contrast....ONE GOD, three persons. STILL ONE GOD.
We call the Trinity a MYSTERY. This means something unexplainable for our puny human minds to grasp. See, this is why they call it FAITH...believing despite not understanding.

I think it's interesting that the Hebrew word for God - elohim - is plural. And in Genesis it says, 'let us make him in our image.' I'm not a linguist, and there may be a perfectly logical explanation for this, but it's worth looking at nonetheless.

the Christian Trinity comes from pagan/mirthain roots and has nothing to do with Abramatic monotheism.
