Oh well! it might offend some people that you are calling jesus a "person"...
Anyway I think both belong to more or less the same league - they used the hero worship of their followers to establish religion/cult of their choice and hence became immortal.
I do not know how jesus behaved as a person, whether he was perfect or erred and sinned like the normal human (even if he did err and sin, his current day followers will not let the world know it). There's too much glamour around jesus and too much is at stake for all the clergy and missionaries round the world to even risk hinting at the possibility that jesus was a normal human being. If the church is true, then jesus is indeed great!
Gandhi, though can be taken as an example for his exposition of simplicity and non-violence, he was very much human and he had his faults. Again there is too much glamour around him and too much is at stake for the world's "intellectuals" to even risk hinting the possibility of him having committed any mistake. Come on, how can Gandhi, the apostle of peace and non-violence, the stereotype of a weak and self-deprecating third-world possibly have enough courage to sin? Aren't all noble human beings supposed to be cowards? The dark factes of his life are just hidden away from the world and fade away in the luminance of the glamour around him. He was a woeful hypochondriac who treated his wife with scant respect and doomed the then United India (now India ,Pakistan & Bangla Desh) to a future of conflict, a never-compromising strife by agreeing for partition under highly favourable and unfairly advantageous terms for the muslims - they got their own counrty the real estate of which was more or less in tune with their proportion in total population, and also had the option to stay back in the "remaining" India - the result is that bigots on either side of the border are hell-bent on making India (whatever remained after the islamic republic of Pakistan was carved out) an islamic state through their jihad. But Gandhi is still revered, so much so that no one dares to utter a word against him. So is he great person? He must be, if so many people are saying so!

Apparently, they were both good people. The difference is Gandhi was mortal and Jesus was immortal. Jesus made the ultimate sacrfice by dying for the whole world. Gandhi did wonderful things but he was not divine. Jesus died and rose again, Gandhi died but did not rise again. Jesus is the Son of the Almighty God, conceived by the Holy Spirit. Gandhi was conceived like you and I. Not intending to take anything from Gandhi, only trying to clarify the difference.

I like Gandhi. But I actually think Jesus was probably a lot like Gandhi. Gandhi didn't claim to be the son of God and didn't have a bunch of miracles attributed to him. He was human and his actions were real. HIs reputation was built on standing up for human rights. Jesus did the same but unfortunately, the mythology of Jesus overshadowed the man.

In what way are you asking the question? Jesus still influences many lives and he wasnt just a person like Gandhi He was and still is the Son of God and He is the Word of God. His Words are more widely quoted and respected than Gandhi. Gandhi was mearly just a man who did good things but he still was a fallen man like us all unlike Christ who was born of a virgin birth and showed us how to live for God and He died for us as well paving the way for us to enter God's presence without that we wouldnt be allowed in God's presence without still having to sacrifice animals.

humans cant be better, any way the greater of the two would be Jesus, he has a religion, and has been around the block to say alot longer then mr. Gandhi
I feel the need to reverse my name, now it my turn to Enlighten U, jesus was just a man himself, it is his soul that is immortal, and everyone soul is, but I believe Jesus and other throughout history held what I will call Christ, or the Christ essense, the unknown, the comforter, and forth........Christ essense so job is to change things, and reshape us for the better, most of the ppl who has this essence, ends up dieing in the end, and I also must add everyone carries this essense, but only a few realize this essense and can utilize it to shape the world, others are ingnorant and dont pay attention to it, and make gods out of the people who ask not to be placed on the format as the creator is

Except for the fact that Jesus is still helping people your statement would have a basis. Jesus has been helping people since he died on the cross which according to history happened 2006 years ago so how can you say Ghandi did more good? Don't get me wrong Ghandi was a great man and did LOTS of good but you can't really compare the son of God to a mere man even if that man was Ghandi.

I truly believe that Gandhi was a good man and he lived a good life. He is an inspiration that is true but Christ stands above all else. No mortal human can compare.
Peace Be With You,
