If you live in or near a sizable city, there should be a "munch" group that has a web presence. Get in touch with them and go to a few social gatherings that they offer. Also, be willing to travel to other groups' meetings as well. It's possible that you'll meet someone that you have an interest in and reciprocates that interest back. I can attest to that personally as I wound up meeting my wife at a munch 2 1/2 hours from home.

I wouldn't trust the Internet dating site if i were you, but some people here are right, you have to get out,and try to meat new people, join a club, organise parties, go to parties, or just hag out more with your friends, they might introduce you to their friends, or just meat someone when you're at i don't know at the movies or theatre, or park or anywhere you like. My experience is that you never know what is going to happen when you go out from home, there are many surprises, you just have to seize the opportunities, and don't be shy, live your life fully!
I know someone, who was introduced to his future wife by a friend, it was love at first sight, they ended up married...
You never know what can happen, you just have to give faith a chance to show itself.
As for what kind of girl suits you, that's up to you to decide, I can just say that you should follow your instincts, and you'll be OK!

I found my perfect partner on an online dating agency. You can put all your info on there for women to see what you like and don't like. It worked for me and we are still going strong after 2 years.
Give it a try, there's loads of agencies, some of them free. Even Yahoo have one!

they usually have them in free newspapers etc.
I know in my free papers they have people into all different kind of things and of all ages too.
