Sad to say but at 12 is when I started drinking regularly..my parents had always given alcohol at New Years or special occasions but as for my own hobby it was 12. However, instead of becoming an alcoholic I rarely drink now, I think I got the whole partying thing out of my system.

I was 13 when I drank my first beer. Little did I know that was the beginning of a 28 year career in alcoholism. I've been sober now for ten years and I'm not AGAINST alcohol. I'm against stupidity, insecurity, low self-esteem and all the other reasons I drank. You might want to ask yourself what the REAL pay-off is in drinking alcohol and why you feel the need in the first place. I'm just trying to make you AWARE. Best of luck, junior.

When I was little, I could a sip of Champagne on New Years, or at a wedding. I started getting my own glass when I was 18. I was able to drink causually, at parties and stuff, when I was 19-20, without my parents saying anything. They never really made a big deal out of it, and neither did I.
