you probably can but I certainly wouldn't
they are a great bunch of scam artists and once you use it they have your card number

Not only can you use American Credit Cards in Nigeria, if you are not careful as to when you use them, shops, restaurant, if you let the card out of your sight, you are likely to have a very very large bill when you get home.

Depends on where you are trying to use it. Arik Air would not accept my VISA for excess baggage fare. They said they only accept Nigerian issued VISA cards.
