Most of the ancient Israelites, as well as today's more enlightened people, believe that the Christ didn’t come to Earth because the Scriptures show that when he does come, his people (the Jews) would be saved and Armageddon will take place. Today's Christians believe that when Christ comes the second time, Christians will be saved and Armageddon will take place. It appears that history is repeating itself, with today's Christians repeating all the same errors made by the ancient Israelites, so is it possible that we have also missed to Second Coming of the Christ. The Ancient Israelites had all the same prophecies we have today, and they had the evidence of their own eyes, yet they didn't believe. They didn’t realize that the two events would be taking place hundreds of years apart. Are we also ignoring the evidence right in front of us and not realizing that there is a period of time to pass between events? Are we so arrogant as to believe we're any different from the Israelites?

Gooday Papa Bear,
God says that there is nothing new under the sun. So more than likely there are many things that have been repeated throughout the ages. And no the Messiah hasn't returned yet. The earth however is growing through what the Holy Spirit/God/Jesus describe as birthing pains of the beginning of the end of the remainder of the biblical prophecies to be fulfilled. And God also says that in the end times even the elect (Christians/Jews) will be deceived if they allow themselves to be, thereby missing out on a lot. God however has a backup plan to even give the billions of people left after the rapture a second chance during the tribulation when Satan's last anti-christ will rule the world for 7 years, 3 1/2 "good" and 3 1/2 very very bad (evil). The best time to catch a ride on the Jesus Express is now, the greatest treasures are in heaven for those who gladly choose Jesus now, accept Jesus free gift, repent of your sins-that is turn away from them, don't look back and be set free, leave no door open for satan to come in and wreck your life. Jesus bought my soul with evey single drop of His blood. Bless ya. XOXO

Pretty much all of christianity is off the opinion Jesus is coming back very soon. Most of christianity views the activities in iraq as having something to do with armageddon. Most christians like the idea of foreign policy being based on the old testament. christians like to see news from the middle east, as if it were the only place on earth. Christian leaders are playing a game with you all. its called MISDIRECTION. using the religon to get more sh*t.
Its been done throughout history, because it works. Its called, "winning the hearts and minds of the people".
There is no 'armageddon' coming. Though there probably will be world war III. And i wont be in it. christians can fight their own battles.
There is no pre,mid or post rapture.
Its crapola........its the beast and his false prophet, Pharoah and his priest, church and state,George bush and Hal lindsay,King Arthur and merlin the magician.......... open your eyes......see the matrix.

merry christmass NEO :)

I am certainly not ignoring it nor the facts that you have stated here, I believe that you are right and that we would certainly be aware of the coming of christ, yes, the Jews are his people. The Bible says that any one that believes in him, repents of sin and asks him into our heart and life will be saved. So that means that I'm an adopted Jew, if you will. No man is different, all man kind has sin in his heart. To be more like christ, is what every man, woman, boy and girl should do every day. Repent of our sins and forgive as he has forgiven us. To fallow in his foot steps is the way to go. I believe that when he comes to pick us up! it will be so fast and many many people will join him in the kingdom of heaven. Soon after the world will be destroyed by fire.

So the Israelites of today have the same badly translated scriptures that their forefathers did that are so vague as to let the person reading get what they want out of it? Perhaps the ramblings of ancient cultures when people hid when lightening flashed across the sky. Magic god and magic jesus are not coming back. The killing between religions continues unabated as it has for thousands of years and still we cling to a story book.

i do feel that there has forever been wars between east and west , and continuous struggle in the far east .. so i don't think history is repeating itself but just playing on and on and on
your question about missing the second coming .. Ive thought about this too in the past
if it is indeed correct that Jesus was to come again , we are all so blind to things that if a great man did come along , we would just pass him off as another do gooder
in the past there have been many wonderful people who hav given so much to this world .. gandi , mother theresa , even bob geldof lol .. the list goes on ..
but does make you wonder if people are too busy looking at the woods to see the trees
i am saying this from a non christian point of view but i think your question on that is a very valid point

Have we missed the Second Coming of Christ? No. When he comes, the dead (in Christ) will rise first and then we who are alive will be caught up with them in the air. I'm still here, and so are the other Christians that I know. I Thessalonians 4: 15,16.
After we are gone, it will be a very bad environment on earth.

Most of the Ancient Jews understood the Bible to be a mix of everything, laws, constitution, history, poems, tall tales and even some pure unadulterated crap.
An understanding that few Christians will ever have.

History repeats itself, but there new actors in the play.
I don't think that human kind went through the Judgment day yet.
Armageddon is still to come. That is why, I think there are so many Jews who do not believe that Christ is Savior.

The Isrealites didn't acknowledge Jesus as Christ or Messiah.
With Christ fullfilling all the phophecies, they still rejected him.

There'll be no doubt when Kingdom rule starts over the earth fella.
Christ will be seen on a cloud. Since he is a spirit, it can occur in a manner so all mankind will see him.

This idea of the Second Coming of Christ is a misunderstanding of scripture.

Jesus has no intention of returning as a living human. He already did that. The idea that he is coming to take the faithful to their heavenly reward means that This time Jesus is returning in the hearts of those who have accepted his message and try to live their lives to emulate his teachings.

Few actually do this. It requires a radically different interpretation of love from the one understood by most so-called believers. Most people see love as something that you keep in reserve only for those you have judged worthy of it.

This is not the love Jesus was speaking about at all. This is only judgment. Judgment is the exact opposite of what Jesus was teaching. Remember judge not lest ye be judged. Jesus asks us to love our neighbor. Notice that there is no accept for in this statement. Every one is intended to be included in this love Jesus ask us to have for our fellow man. This type of universal application of love requires no judgment on our part because Jesus’' intent was that no one be left out of it.

This is a difficult pill to swallow for any religion that thinks of it's self as being the one true and only correct way to God. This idea of exclusivity is the exact opposite of the message of inclusively that Jesus gave us.

Attaining the goals that Jesus set for us may actually be even more difficult within the constraints most religions impose. This is why many who seriously try to emulate the true teachings of Jesus in their lives do not ascribe to any particular religious following. They follow the truth in their hearts where Jesus has taken up residence. Those who have actually done this are the ones Jesus is coming for this time.

Love and blessings.
