Its been over 2 months since my dad found Lucky, my cat, at a gas station. In other words he's a stray. He loved it when I used to carry him, now, he always struggles! He even bites me. I dunno what I'm doing wrong! I'm not being cruel to him in anyway I can think of.....

you know, i also had a cat just like that.when he was still young, he liked being carried, but know he doesnt anymore, and it became worse, he only comes to me, when he asks or wants food, or sometimes, when i come to him,he mistook me for having food around me....CATS are really like that they each have different personalities some wants to be carried or picked up by their human, some will automatically sit at your lap... some doesnt really like being carried. you also need to understand LUCKY, remember cats have feelings too, maybe he gets hurt in some part of his/her body when you carry her around like my cat i came to realize that my cat is always injured cause of fights..... but there are some cats that are antisocial when they grow up. you can ask experts on cats for some more answers. i read one article in a book that studies about cats, that when they bite you, it's either theyre protecting themselves or they really love you and tehy want to show you their feelings about you. Hey, I love cats, and remember cats have feelings, give them love and they'll give you back what you gave them...

First of all, he's not YOUR cat. You're HIS human. Two months isn't a very long time. He was all " lovey" at first probably because he was just HAPPY to have a home and a human. Give him time, and I'm sure he'll settle down into his chosen personality. Also, it might hurt him to be picked up. Have him checked by a vet and be sure to get his shots. Having him"fixed" is also a good idea. BOTH of you will be calmer and happier. Plus, he'll live a bit longer. I love cats. Good luck.

Are you sure it is not a female. My cat Sarah gets like that when she gt pregant.Maybe lay him down and rub his belly if he trirs to bite you then maybe there is something physical wrong with him. He could just be in heat and need to mate. Hope it helps. God Bless your Dad for bringing him home. And a great name Lucky, he was lucky your Dad found him and that you are giving him a good home.......

Hmm...my friend has 2 cats. Some cats' personality is like that. they may want to be carried, then don't want to be carried. Also, animals go through "teenage stages" too. Or, it may be sick and not feeling well...so a vet check may be good. You should try to pick up the cat carefully, and carry him gently and properly. Make sure his rump is fully supported.

How are you picking the cat up? Cats can be funny about having their belly touched because their belly is a vulnerable spot so they're very protective of it naturally. If that is not the case they may just not feel safe being picked up.

I agree. some cats, extraordinarily feral who've had little human and different animal interplay do no longer choose affection. i could think of that in case you stopped forcing her to be cuddled, held or touched that finally she would be in a position to experience risk-free and mushy sufficient to come back to you on her very own. in all probability she isn't a real lap cat, yet provide it time. go away her be for a on a similar time as. provide her very own very own area, case in point set up a mattress and/or a stand for her in a quiet room the place she will circulate while she's feeling under pressure. in case you enable her exchange into conscious of human beings and he or she is left on my own till she does, she would be in a position to benefit to have confidence. I comprehend which you rather prefer to teach her which you adore her, yet together with her constrained experience and shortage of expertise, to her, you forcing your self on her makes her experience scared, apprehensive and much extra unwilling to be domesticated.

Cats are independent in catipal letters. Let your cat come to you, and ask to be carried (standing on hind legs, mewing etc.) and the relationship should improve.

Cats are independant, he's older now, mine was the same way. He used to let me hold him but now he just wants to sit near me. Thats a cat for ya, very unpredictable.

Some cats do that. My one cat was the same way. Except he never let us carry him until we got him fixed, and it calmed him down. When they get fixed, they become more loveable.

Maybe he has a booboo somewhere that is sensitive and it bothers him when you pick him up. Try sitting down and enticing him to come sit on your lap- then give him a gentle little rub down to see if there is a sore spot.

He'll need to go to the vets to get his shots if he hasn't already. They can give you some advice too.
