In Britain many reservoirs are standing half empty, temperatures are hitting record highs many crops are simply withering away and there is not going to be enough food for animals this winter. Is it like this where you are too? Is there anywhere in the world which is having normal/more than average rainfall?

I live in North America (Georgia to be exact) and we are in a drought. All of the South and Central actually. But the Northeast is having record number amounts of rainfall and even some flooding. There is a El Nino air pattern going on and that is the way it goes sometimes. In a year or so, we will be in a La Nina air pattern. We have been put on a outdoor watering ban and the lake and river that supply the water to 3 million people, is lower than it has been in 3-4 years. Go to www.weather.com or www.nasa.gov and you can find out about the weather patterns and droughts.

Back in 1976, which was REALLY hot, hosepipe bans all over and advice on sharing baths, the idea of a national water grid was suggested.
It was dismissed as being too expensive.

How much profit did the water companies make this year?

India had that rainstorm with 37 inches in 24 hours.

The rain may be disappearing in some places but it's showing up in others. You'll get your turn, don't worry ;-)
