Puppies chew. Crate her while you are gone. It will keep her, and your house, safe. Also, with that breed, since they can be a dominant breed, you should not let the dog free-range feed. You should have mealtimes where you make the dog sit for food, and then put the bowl down. 2 or 3 times a day. Just divide up the amount she eats/ is suggested to eat.

Have you tried spraying everything in your house with products like Bitter Yuck, Bitter Mist, Bitter Apple etc? Most of those products don't stain or cause damage to household items, and prevent/minimize chewing. An animal behaviorist could also help, and you need to do some more looking into obedience schools. There should be someone out there who is willing to let one in their class. Crating them while I was away has worked for me. Some dogs are lonely, and chew while owners are gone, music, tv left on, etc helps for some as well. I videotaped my dogs playing, and set it on a loop, so that they could watch themselves all day while I was at work. I've also called home and left myself messages so they could hear my voice every couple hours. Sometimes medication for behavioral problems are in order. Ask your veterinarian for advice as well. Talk to your local pit rescue, they can offer advice, training tips, and point you to some schools etc that allow pits to be there.

Crate training is a wonderful thing. Don't think of it as putting her in a cage. Dogs view their crates as their dens. I have a 3 year old chihuahua and she has to be crated when I leave because she will chew stuff up. She is perfectly healty and happy when I get home and none of my stuff is chewed up.

hello
i have a 5 month old husky, lab and german shepard mix, a 2 yr. old rotti, great dane and australian mix and a 3yr. old rat terrior. we have the same issue as u do. we leave them at home for a few hours we come home to shreded toilet paper, poop, just a plain old mess so in order to figure out which one we spank all 3 we show them what is wrong then spank them and tell them no and we hate to spank them cause they r our kids. so most of the time if we go away we take them with so if u can take her with u. we r against putting them in a cage cause my hubby says it is like jail and he don't want to do that to them. if u need to talk please feel free to call 717-718-5200. we get frustrated too but they r after all still a pup.

Well i think he chews on everything while you are gone because you arent there to tell him no or punish him for doing it. maybe you should just keep him in one room and make sure there is nothing he can damage in there while you are gone. he'll be fine while you are at work in just one room. thats more freedom than most dogs get.

When you get home take her for long walks and give her lots of attention. She just misses you and needs you as much as possible when you get home.

Did you not know this was going to happen?
It's like the gal who say... I've had UNPROTECTED SEX... and now I'm pregnant... what now? Did they not see this coming?
