That does seem a little late for children that age. However, as long as your consistent with the bed time that is what is important. Kids that age need routine. So if they go to bed at the everynight that is good...cause it will be easier to change to earlier bed time if needed, cause they will understand its a change in the routine. It may be harder the first couple of days but since you already established a routine they will adapt to the new routine better.

I think 10 is an unacceptable bedtime for a toddler and a preschooler. My daughter is almost four and she's in bed at 8. Up until she was 3 her bedtime was 7. She sleeps until 6:30 or 7 in the morning. If you don't put them to bed at a reasonable hour you are setting you kids up for serious sleep issues and possible learning disabilities as they get older. Plus, when do you have any down time without the kids around? I look forward to 8 o'clock because I get a break. You need to put your kids in bed earlier than 10, that's ridiculous.

Personally i think 10pm is a little late. I put my kids to bed at 8pm to 8:30 pm.. That way i have alone time..
reason being is it usually took them about a half an hour to get done with the i have to potty, i need a drink , i need a kiss.
That way you also have some alone time in the evening before you want to go to bed..
Raising small kids you need your private time in the evenings. Makes it easier to cope and be ready for work the next day what ever you want to do.. It relieves all the pressures from the pervious day. and you are much happier the next morning when you little ones come bouncing into your room early in the morning. You are ready see them . You are ready to go for another day with them with pleasure..
Kids have so much energy i always wonder if there wasn't a way that we could get some of there energy and slow them down a little bit it would make us about equal.. but i guess there isn't..I never found it anyway..
they need all the sleep they can get .. They work hard during the day running you ragged so if your time scedule works for you and they are happy and healthy.. That is for you to decide. I always prefered the earlier hour of bedtime.

That is not a good time for the little ones. Speaking for me my 2 year old is in the bed @ 7:30 pm no later than 8pm and will sleep until 7am no problem. Why do you think you let your kids stay up late?

How old are they?... I'd say about 9-10 for 2 or 3 year olds... From 4-6 I would be in bed by 10pm... I used to go to bed at midnight on schoolnights from the ages of 7-10 and from 11-14 I went to bed at about 2am on schoolnights... I had no bedtime at weekends or holidays... Now I get very little sleep, as little as 3-4 hours if I'm lucky... So don't screw up your kids sleeping times, they'll probably end up with a sleeping disorder... It is best to stick to a routine...

I think to eachs own, but for the 2 year old its a little late. My son is 3 going on 4 and his bed time is 9p.m. sharp. My boyfriend set this time but if it was up to me it would be 8p.m. But the plus side is that he gets a 3 hour nap during the day. So i guess if your kids don't get over-tired and you're o.k. with it then it's really your decision. Whether my son is tired or not at bedtime really doesn't matter. We say it's bedtime and he goes around the house to tell everyone goodnight, then goes and gets in bed. We say goodnight and turn off the lights, and he stays in bed. Weather he goes to sleep right away doesn't matter either, just as long as he stays in bed. This works for us and i guess depending on what kind of schedule you puts your kids on they will adapt.

Kids at this age need 12 hours of sleep a night. If they're getting up after 8 in the morning, I would say you're okay. Otherwise, I'd try putting them to bed earlier. My kids 1,3 & 5 have always gone to bed at 8 no matter what.

my daughter is 2 and goes to bed by nine ten is just to late for her and she gets cranky. My son is 6 1/2 and in the summer goes to bed between 10 and 10:30 he is ok because he is a little older but little ones really need more sleep.

Well what ages are they? Do they go to bed at this time during the school year? What time do they get up? All kids should get about 8 hours sleep.

That is too late for children to be going to bed. Once in a great while is fine. But they should be in bed by 8 p.m. It gives you some time to decompress after a long day and they get the rest they need.
