battery is flat you could try and jump start it using another car or push it to jump start it. oh and take it for a lllloooooooonnnnnggggg run that should charge the battery back up. if it happens again then your battery or alternator needs replacing.

Sounds like a weak or dead battery. This can have many causes such as a short or maybe the alternator is not putting out enough charge or the cable from the starter to the battery is bad. I had a problem with my cable which caused my battery to not be getting a full charge which in turn caused the dim lights and slow crank. Of course this was the LAST thing I checked. If it is the alternator or battery a parts store can test it. Beware though if the battery is failing and it's not that old then it could be something else causing it! In my case the battery would slowly drain and then recharge a little so it didn't die right away. This caused the battery to fail. You can start the car and disconnect the battery and turn on all your accessories. If the alternator is failing or there is a wire problem the car should die or at least not run well Good luck!

This is an electrical problem. Chances are your battery is dying, or you have a loose battery cable. First tighten your battery cables. Then ask someone to give you a jump start. After getting it started, run it a while then shut it off. If it doesn't start again, there is a good chance your alternator is shot (the alternator charges the battery as you drive so you can start it again after you have shut it off). Alternators only run about $60-$80 and are fairly easy to install, but you may want to have a professional do it if you are not mechanically inclined. I have put in 2 alternators before--one was very easy and one was very difficult.
There is a chance too, that if the battery is very old it won't hold a charge...in which case it will need to be replaced.

Now remember the alternator maintains the battery charged if the battery lets itself be charged. Now if the acid is no good in that battery or their is a short that battery will not let itself be charged. turn the radio off and close the car door, so the battery can charge itself, because the interior light wasted volts and so does the radio. a boost for 15 minutes should charge that battery from a good working car.

Battery is no more! charge it once and if it does not hold charge & start the car then new battery needed. Faint chance it is an alternator problem (expensive!!!)
