I think wanted is a more positive place to be.. Needed has too many issues attached to it, of course we as humans want to be needed, but in what way, or what situation!
If we have to feel needed there must be an underlining issue. I think it depends on the situation. Wanted, I hope would mean the person is able to be responsible and stand on their own two feet. Needed, seems to say the person is much more dependent, insecure, easier to be needed, to look at someone else's problems, help solve them, rather than deal with and work on own self.
I still have to say it depends on the circumstances!

i rather feel needed by some1. helping others is a good thing... needing sth is better then wanting i thnk.

wanted. i dont want to feel needed, because if something happened between us i dont want to be like the only thing they need and then feel guilty if they do something stupid.
