Not everyone can be a Nurse..You have to take a lot of exams and yes you do have to be intellegent, People's lives depend on you knowing what you are doing.

The blonde thing is a cultural stereotype, the same as any other. Some of the brightest people I've known have been blondes, but some of them do admit to having the odd 'blonde moment'!

There was this blonde nurse. She was sick of all the blonde jokes, so she went out and got some red dye. She felt so beautiful being a redhead that she decided to go for a country drive.
She came upon a large flock of sheep. She got out of her car and walked over to the shepherd and said that she had always loved the lovely white sheep.
She said, "If I can guess how many sheep you have in your flock, will you give me one?"
The shepherd, being a betting man replied, "Yeah, I'm a betting man, you're on." She looked over the flock and said, "368."
He gasped in reply, "You're right! I am a man of my word, so go ahead and pick one." She did so, putting it into her car.
The amused shepherd said to her,
"If I can guess your true hair color, can I have my DOG back?"

I quite agree with you and you are right,the spelling of some people on this site is appalling,if they can`t spell why don`t they use the spell checker.As for your question,I`m a natural blond and I have been turned down for jobs,because of that very reason, which is very wrong.I am a qualified pharmacist and can assure everyone that I for one am not thick or stupid.My husbands ex-wife thinks I`m stupid,but I`m not the one on my third divorce,she is,so who is the stupid one??

It's easier to poke fun at blondes than to make jokes about people who have different beliefs or mores in this age of political correctness that way you have a laugh and don't get involved. There won't be massive numbers of anti-blonde joke demonstrators in the streets or apologies in the news if someone takes the mickey.

Like they say redheads must have fiery personalities. It's called "stereotyping", and it can really be hurtful. And depsite what one answerer says, in order to become a qualified nurse, you must undergo rigorous education. NOT ANYONE can do that job. I have a master's degree in chemistry education, I have been teaching for 18 years, and I don't feel at all qualified to do a nurse's job. People look for patterns, and they invent them and perpetuate them, much to the detriment of those being stereotyped.

I dye my hair just to get away from the stereotypical view of blondes. I shouldn't have to, but people make assumptions of you just because of what you look like.
I don't think it matters what hair colour you are everyone can have the odd 'blonde moment'
I call myself a malteser ...... dark on the outside, blonde in the middle!

I'm blonde too, have been all my life. I have a 2:1 degree in Psychology Bsc, 3 A - Levels all Bs and 10 GCSE's A- C - I certainly am not stupid.
People who judge people on their hair colour and just as bad as people who judge by skin colour. Its shallow, pathetic and sad.

my sister was blond (natural blond) she played truant from school (grammer school) half the time and still got very good grades at least the 5 O levels needed at the time to become a nurse
so how is that for stupid

The blonde thing started quite small. Now a lot of blondes delberately live up to the reputation, in order to take advantage of a situation. That's reasonably smart isn't it :)

I don't think ALL blonde women are stupid... some I know, do like to play on this little blonde girl thing, which makes them come across as stupid, which I don't really understand, maybe guys like that....
I'm sure there are plenty of blonde surgeons, solicitors, accountants.... who don't act in that way...
But similarily there are plenty of idiot brunettes too!
