every nation should have a welfare system to house and feed their poor. this will not only give them dignity but if there is a God this is what he would have wanted people to do.
am i right?

I think you are misguided. The government must take something from someone to give it to the unemployed and poor. This system has been tried and in the long run does not work. Ask the Soviet Union.

Yes and no.

Some nations have nothing but poor BECAUSE they have a welfare system that has created a dependence among the people, so they as a nation are not productive.

Humans are like water, they always follow the path of least resistance. If someone gets something for nothing, how do you turn them into productive people?

Also, if the government takes over the role of provider from the men (as is the case in the US welfare system), women will no longer need a man, and you then get high numbers of fatherless children (80% of the men in prison had no father around).

On the other hand, truly needy people must be helped. You can't allow people to starve or have no place to live.

Private charities are far more efficient, getting way more of the available money to the actual needy than government programs, but it is hard for people to give money to a charity when they are taxed so highly that there is barely enough left to keep from being needy themselves.

So, government programs are not cost effective, often corrupt, and create a dependency which creates more needy people and exacerbates the problem.

The best solution is to create an environment where everyone has prosperity so no such welfare is needed.

You feel no dignity stuck on Government handouts. Education and job skills training would work better. The "poor" should not stay poor and unemployed unless they are incapable of working. A good day's work gives dignity.

God says WE should help people. We should not leave our work for God up to the politicians! People who depend too much on governments are too easily manipulated and eventually find themselves oppressed, or even denied the right to openly worship God.

There's shelters, soup kitchens and counseling and job training facilities run by non-profit and religious organizations in most communities. Please support them. They do a better job than the politicians.

Every nation have their own programs for the poor people and those who are unemployed. Only this depends on the nations financial capability for these programs. God gave everyone of us the capacity and ability to help also and the question is, are we doing our part also. Helping is not through financials only but also by physical and spiritual help. I'd rather go to the saying that says, " Don't give them fish but rather teach them how to fish."

I will help a bit. I think it is the responsibility of the government to take care of it's own first and then try to teach the others how to take care of themselves. I feel like you can help and teach better and longer lasting than just to give. I also feel that education is key in any government. however we need to find people willing to teach from the heart and for the education rather than to make a living. What ever happened to teaching your own and make people responsible for their own actions. like if you do not water the crop you will have no food. it can not be that someone will give me some if i mess up.

Dignity is something a person acquires on their own. Governments cannot issue dignity on a monthly basis.

According to the Bible, it is the duty of "the church" to provide for the poor, not the government.

Half right.

Just giving money to people for doing nothing encourages them to do just that - nothing!! Look at the United Kingdom with all it's idlers and wasters. Why work when others can pay taxes and support people who do not want to work for the rest of their lives?

Workfare is far better. The person is required to work for a number of hours for a set rate. The work is done for the benefit of the people and community and the person actually earns the money.

The Welfare system has worked so well for the US...The answer is no. Besides...who would enforce this rule? Most countries don't give a crap about their poor and uneductaed...especially if they are the minority religion.
