I'm 19, female, and in college. The dress is slightly poofy. Any jewelry ideas would be welcome too.

I have long straight dark brown hair. This is for a summer formal at a country club.

Hey there..
I go to formals all the time as my DH is has a political job and we always going to dinners.. most women when they wear a formal gown wear their hair in updo's. The only ones that don't are women that have short hair.

As far as jewelry goes.. an updo stands out so you want to go simple with the earrings... diamond/swarovski studs...and the neclace.. well that depends on the cut of the dress... normal rule f thumb is the neclace should fall half way between the hollow in your neck and the top of the dress.

Hope that helps.
Above all no matter what the style, have fun! Wear comfortable shoes and don't worry, if it's late in the night and your feet hurt, take them off! Most women do :)

You can wear your hair down, put some hot rollers in it for volume and wear some long, flowing earrings.

You can wear your hair up, in a sleek pony tail, nice and straight, maybe put a little bump for volume in the crown of your head and wear a nice dainty necklace.

Have fun!!!

I agree, strapless= updo. It shows off your neck and shoulders. If you want you can leave one or two curls hanging down. Maybe a french twist would be nice?!

From a guys perspective if you turned up with this dress & your hair in a french plait, with a simple necklace I would think you looked fabulous.
