Okee Dokee - this is the BIG ONE.
I gave up smoking 3 years ago after, wait for this, 51 years of smoking just about anything you have ever heard of.
Yep - cigarettes, tailor mades and roll your own, cigarette and pipe tobacco - strongest to the weakest - pipes galore (Sherlock Holmes bent ones and those where the bowls unscrew - horse hair, (in my early days when I had no money!) - dope - you name it, I smoked it - and I gave it all up after 51 years
The last things I was smoking were Cafe' Creme cigars and I was smoking them like cigarettes - about 40 a day and inhaling.
The secret?
No patches, no hypnosis, no false cigarettes (don't those people that use them look stupid?)
Nope. The answer - and not many people believe this, but I swear it's true . . . . . . .
Da daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Pickled Onions!
yep
Pickled Onions.
Jars of the things.
Everytime the craving comes on put 5 in your mouth all in one go.
Chew them for as long as you can. It WILL take the craving away.
It really does work - try it.
You are now waiting for the punchline, huh?
You're waiting for me to tell you that I now can't give up pickled onions, aren't you?
But it's not a joke.
After 3 months - not a pickled onion or a smoke in sight.
And there you are.
That'll be £400
thank you
PS You may be wondering how I found this out?
I stopped smoking - and then one hour later was craving for one. I had heard that sweets were the answer, went through the cupboards, and all I could find were pickled onions.
The rest, as they say, is history.

Congratulations! I smoked for a few years in my teens and early twenties. Looked in a mirror one day with a cig in my mouth and quit saying "That's just not me.". Then I got depressed when I was 50 and started again. Quit twice, for a few weeks, after the depression, but started up again. I kinda want to quit, but enjoy it also. Weird dilemma. I know the best way to stop a bad habit is to replace it with a good one, but I haven't found any good hobbies lately. When I'm not smoking, I feel cleaner, but overall... no real difference. Hang in there, you're doing the right thing. Just wish I could find the key to quit wanting to smoke.
'nuff said?

my dad and one of my friends just quit smoking. My dad had been smoking for over 40 years, in the beginning it was really hard for him and soon chewing gum became his best friend but that didn't last very long and now he doesn't even remember what it used to be like to smoke. you gotta find something to lean on while you get through ur initial quitting phase which is all about urges, once thats over you'll be fine. just don't give up you made a good choice!! good luck to you!!!

I quit smoking on Oct 17th of last year, I had smoked for 7 years. My urges have pretty much gone away, but when they were stronger I would try to fill my time doing stuff. Also if you take in 10 deep breaths to relax when the urge comes on, it is very helpful.

I have never smoked. We have been trying over 16+ yrs to get my mother-in-law to quit! NO SUCH LUCK!!! Her grand-kids have even TRIED to get her to quit!
She "supposedly" tried this past spring but went right back to smoking again.
My father-in-law has Allergies, Emphysema, Heart Disease etc. She don't care!!! She smokes near him and in their vehicles!

First better do not smoke but if you have very much desire for smoking then start some other work so your concentrate divide and your smoking desire will reduce
