Contacting him could cause more harm than good. He may be in a secure relationship and doesn't need the complication. He could also resent it. It's perfectly natural to dwell on happier experiences in times of chaos such as a divorce. It's part of the acceptance and healing process. Things may seem bad now, but they're sure to improve. EVERY divorced couple I know all say that getting divorced was the BEST thing that ever happened to them. It just didn't SEEM like it at first. Best of luck to you.

Sure, why not? What could it hurt? Try your social network, or look on a site like Classmates... if he's not married, just say you happened across his email address or what have you and invite him out for coffee to catch up.
Just don't force it... if those sparks are not there when you meet again, it's probably not going to happen.
Even if that doesn't end up working out for whatever reason, and don't pin your hopes on it, know that the "first love" sort of intensity can happen again with another person -- I know from personal experience. :D

I say just try to get a hold of him. No matter what happens if he's married or taken...it's nice to get in touch with a person from your past. If you can let go (or don't have) any emotional baggage that made you (or him) end the relationship in the first place. Go for it.

It would never be the same - just remember that time changes people... You need something fresh and new...
Leave the past behind you and not your behind in the past!!!

try checking around with old friends or maybe classmate.com or if your next reunion is close... && see if he is married... if he is... friends only... && don't ruin his marriage... but if not hey, go for it... maybe it was meant to be... (try checking with the reunion committee for his number and address)
