Umm..well there is this guy that i like. But the thing is hes really, really popular! I've seen him stare at me a lot but that doesnt prove anything. And the worst thing is I've never talked to him before! Cuz im too shy!
How do you know if a guy likes you if they dont even know you??

If he looks at you a lot, chances are he probably thinks you're cute, but if you're shy then you may be unintentionally giving him the idea you don't want the attention.
I know it's hard when you're shy, but try smiling at him when he looks at you. Don't force it... imagine something good, something that brings a smile to your face, and just do it.
Your biggest enemy is that voice in your head that is saying things like "that doesn't prove anything." Be positive!
There are two things that will work in your favor: projecting a confident attitude and being approachable. These things are difficult for shy people, but you can work on it. Imagine him coming to talk to you... rehearse a conversation in your head if you have to.
This may sound hokey, and it might be difficult at first, but if you can get in that mental space where you are expecting it to happen and you know what you're going to do, you will appear confident and approachable.
Test it out and see how it works. If he smiles back, maybe you can work up the courage to talk to him if he doesn't come to you. Even if it doesn't work out with this guy, taking steps in this direction will help you overcome your shyness, I guarantee it.

Try talking to him when he is away from his friends, one on one. Then you can try flirting with him to see how he responds. If he flirts back, then he probably has some sort of interest in you.
