i am not a bit surprised by the amount and type of people who are atheists. the problem with christians or people who hold strong to religious beliefs, not necessarily christian only, is that they become reliant on this almost illusory figure that is supposed to carry them day to day. you're told to trust in god and he will show you the way.

personally im not a full fledged atheist. i do believe that a god exists but im not comfortable with the current religions that are in the place nor the people that worship within these religions. i find them to be ignorant and hypocritical for the most part.

i believe in a god in the sense that there is a higher being, higher than where we are now as far as existence.

atheists don't tend to have that high reliance on some imaginary outside force. so they become leaders instead of being comfortable followers.

at the same time, the bible is simply a collection of stories or anecdotes to help illustrate how people should act towards one another. i discount the bible as some higher power in written form. however, i respect it for the teachings because it does have that ability to teach. even the 10 commandments and 7 deadly sins can be someone agreed upon by all peoples regardless of belief system.

that's my "belief system." sort of a combination of everything at the same time with no adherence to any one specific thing.

Your point exactly? You know the film lumped some agnostics with atheists?

All it it proves is that some people are educated beyond their intelligence. I'd rather be a 'holy fool,' than an enlightened atheist.

a christian is not required to be "clever" but "humble"; dont' forget we need a "true hart" not a "bright mind"... a true hart is that one accepts that she /he is just a ash of dust... nothing more
