i was 16, this goodlooking boy asked me for a date, i was so excited, told all my mates. that night i made the effort, washed hair, full makeup and best clothes, then sat and waited for him to come. he was late, couldn't reach him on phone. after two hours i cuddled up to my dog and cried my eyes out. Ive learnt since then, if they are half hour late, i go out, their loss.

I believe that many girls are stood up. some admit to it and others don't because they don't want to be embarrassed. It can and does happen regularily, frequently if you meet in a club, or elsewere for that matter, if drink is involved. I fellow can fancy a girl or vice versa, and make a date with her or give a phone number to meet. It is a good idea at the time, and both are excited at the attention of the other.
Next morning things are different. either they no longer fancy each other in the cold light of day, or one of them changes their mind. Sometimes with drink in, people just have no recollection of the previous meeting.

If you have been stood up, it is hurtful I must admit, because your trust in the other person has been abused. However it is no reflection on you, it is a reflection on the bad manners of your date.

If there is a genuine reason for your date being late or not showing up, they should contact you in advance or within minutes of the time of the date. If you have not hear from them later within 24 hours, then classify them as WASTERS, and tell all your friends and everybody you know about what they are likely to do on potential dates with them. Shame them, and give no second chance, unless they can convince you that it was a matter completely out of their control.

You deal with it as a fact in life, that a lot of people have experienced. Hurtful, but it happens, put it behind you, it was not your fault, and be a little more cautious in agreeing you next few dates.

Get your best friend to give you a big hug, and move on from there. There are also nice dates out there too, who would be glad to be with you. good luck, and keep smiling
