Anything past 35. It takes lots of energy to care for kids and you can't give that energy when you are past your prime. You don't want to be in your 50's playing catch with you kids.

I would say about 40 is the limit. My wife became pregnant at 39 (planned) we took a risk and didn't have a particularly happy pregnancy, after the triple test the result showed there was a 1 in 10 chance my son was Downs, the amniocentesis result came back and everything was fine. It's a worrying time though, we had to wait 3 weeks for the result, there's also a sisk of miscarriage too, I think it's 2%. When my son was born he had 3 indents on his left leg, one went right through to the back of his leg. We were sure it was due to the needle as a trainee performed the amnio and couldn't get any amniotic fluid out, i'm sure she stuck the needle in his leg.
Havin said this, my sister-in-law had a baby last year, she's 38 and had a perfect pregnancy. People seem to be having children at a later stage in life these days.

As long the women still ovulates, technically speaking, she can still conceive and have a baby. The problem is as they get older, there is an increased chance of birth defect, especially down syndrome. With todays advanced medical technolog, it is possible to detect many birth defects.

The other problem is when you have a baby at at very advanced age, How long can we be around to take care of them? Assuming you have a baby at 45, by the time you are 60, the child will only be 15 years old. If you are still healthy and still to provide them financially, it is ok. What if not?

I think over the age of 40 is too old to have kids because I heard if you have a baby over 40 years old there is more of a risk for things like down syndrome when the baby is born.

19 i too old. 37 and you will have 50/50 percent chance of having a gumby. Have em young an be able to relate to them when they are teenagers. Any age is okay if you move with the times. For a man with a younger wife, 67 is okay, remember how your grandparents did'nt give a f..k how you acted? They just love you and condem their own kids for making you brush your teeth or study too hard. How soon we forget being kids.

It depends upon the Lord God Almighty but scientifically 35 years old would be the maximum age that someone can have kids but to think of it my parents had us at the age of 38 but i felt i have the down's syndrome. yes, it's too risky for both the mother and child to be pregnant at an older age.

well, nature pretty much set the boundaries for women, and I think you should respect those (no matter what science has made possible). Besides: would you really want your 5 year old kid to have a father or mother that has an age of 65+?

Over 30 for a woman, no upper limit for a man really. The incidences of birth defects increase with a woman's age so in her 20s is probably the ultimate time for children.
