I have a feeling that that might be what I'm doing.
The only reason I'm doing a phd is so that people will call me Doctor. My friends are already threatening not to, on the grounds that it's not a "proper doctor". So I've decided the way to go is to scrap the friends who don't show enough respect, and make friends with the young and impressionable who will look up at me in Awe.
I've already ordered a t shirt on the internet that says "Trust me, I'm a doctor". I saw a guitarist in a popular beat combo wearing one at a gig recently so it must be cool.
And if all else fails I've got a machete I can bring to "show and tell".

1. if you are serious about becoming a teacher you are gong to have to learn to articulate your questions in a sensible manner.
2. wanting to be a "cool" teacher is not a good enough reason to become one

they wouldnt let me on the course, but now am starting a teacher assistants course in september so i will try my best to make you proud of me!
