You didn't specify which area of the ministry. The best place to volunteer is your church. Be available there to use your God-given gifts for the benefit of the body of Christ. Then as you learn about the ministries around the country you will be able to decide which will give you the best opportunity to use your gifts for the glory of God. Also, pray.
