why do people keep plugging baby einstein stuff?
That is one way to make your kid fall for media hype for sure. It's like the Paris Hilton of baby toys! UGGH!
All the best toys are either free or cheap. Even if your kid isn't smart, who cares? If you love him, it doesn't matter how smart he is.

No toys will "make your kid smart"
There are different levels of intelligence both emotional and intellectual and both are equally important in order to be successful in life. The toys have nothing to do with it...........the people in their lives do.
Most brilliant children are those who have not been exposed to much television, are read to, had parents interacting with them at all times, doing a variety of activities, science experiments from kitchen materials, taking them places so they could build prior knowledge, asking higher level thinking skills, asking open ended critical thinking, matching socks and talking about counting by twos, measuring how much rain has fallen and talking about the water cycle, going to the zoo, fishing and talking about the life cycle of a fish, blowing bubbles and talking about why it happens,.......no toy can replace the love , diriection, and interaction of a parent.

any toys that don't plug into a tv for a start.,unless it's one of them computers for kids.,keep him away from playstations etc etc.,he'll end up lazy, not to mention ungrateful(he'll want every new one released). Try a hand held battery run maths toy my nephew had one of them when he was a kid and he ended up Dux at his high school., I on the other hand couldn't get past level 2 and that was just add and subtract.....lol My parents were thick, it had nothing to do with game consoles.,well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it...

Those kinderbots are pretty good. But sitting down one on one with them and reading, drawing, coloring, and doing puzzles are the best. Interacting with them and letting them figure stuff out on their own is best. My kids are only 5, but we've always done this since they were 2 and they are pretty independant with alot of things (i like to think my kids are pretty smart). The key is patience. Knowing that it will take longer if you let them do it on their own. I let them help me when I work on the house sometimes. Gardening. As long as it's safe, I'll let them do anything. Again, it takes longer, but it's worth it.
