I'm a Christian and I have more fun than atheists, but just because I dont drink all the other people think i cant have a good time.

Its not just the drinking, you can't have sex and many other pleasurable activities.
I think the main reason people think that is because, generally, the bible inspires fear rather than happiness and Christians (massive generalisation I know) tend to think if they do anything wrong they will be punished rather than just make a mistake.

You have asked a good question! I know some people tend to think like that but don't know why. Jesus said that he had come to give life and give it more abundantly yet some Christians seem to live like they are in total bondage and this probably gives the non-believers the impression that Christians don't have fun. I know that I have fun and live life as best I can to the fullest because I know that I have already been judged and found not condemned yet people who don't believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are condemned already (John Ch.3 V18) Its a great feeling to know that I can never again come into condemnation and have already passed from death into life. What a pity some Christians live like they they are enslaved under the law. Could this be the reason as to why people are turned off Christianity and believe we don't have fun??

Despite being (a very strong) atheist I do agree with you - these kind of generalisations are phenomenally unhelpful.
I have a christian friend who is on a round the world trip at the moment just winging it, whilst I'm sitting here in from a computer answering questions... who's having more fun? I'd say she is.
And the idea that you need to be consuming vast amounts of alcohol to enjoy yourself is simply ridiculous. I have several muslim friends who don't touch the stuff who are great fun to be around.
Just because you don't agree with someone's belief system doesn't mean that you can stereotype them.

It is because we don't drink to excess, believe in gluttony, sex with multiple partners we are not married to, etc....and since most people who dis Christians are those who are drinkers, sexual immoral, and partakers of various illegal substances, they think Christianity is not fun. I absolutely have had more fun as a Christian than I ever did before. I don't drink, either, and refuse to ever enter a bar again, but I've not missed out on any joys. In fact, because I can see the wonders of God more clearly now, I have more joy in my life than ever! Blessings.

Because I was a christian for the major part of my life and to say the least it was BORING! That going to church twice a week and a couple of prayer meetings and a bible study were just not gittin R done. The thought of spending all of eternity with that many boring people was finally more than I could stand.

Why would you compare yourself to an Athiest ? Anyone can have fun, with or without Religion. I'm nor Christian or Athiest, and I don't drink and still have a good time.

It's ignorant to assume that religion has anything to do with fun. And I say this because you claim that you have more fun than an atheist based solely on your religion.

wat is *fun* according 2 u?
the principles of christianity don't encourage the things which today are SO-CALLED STUFF FOR FUN (eg, pre-marital sex, porn, drugs, etc) by ppl who call themselves modern n hip n cool. as far as drinking is concerned a little n manageable amt of it is fine
with christianity u can hav much more fun. u can have the right ways of living n be without all the mess tht's 2day in this world.
