take a tube (like a paper towel roll) go into the bathroom with him use the tube on yourself urinate with it and show him how much fun it is to have a penis

but just make sure he doesn't think that this will happen to his penis and it will be removable

Depends on how old he is. My son is 3 and is finally potty trained but still sits. It's hard as a women to show him how grown up men pee but I'm thinking of maybe holding him up while he does his business and telling him he can do it that way from now on. He's big for his age so I know he's at the right level. But still, I'm not sure if a 3 year old can do it without me holding him. I guess we'll have to wait and see if he has to be older. Ahhh the joys of parenting and never knowing what will come next and how to dea with it. I love it.

Okay, I live in an area of the Southern US where many of us have our own private back yards, so this answer may not be feasible for you. (We're also hillbillies. lol) My best friend's husband was delpoyed to Iraq when she was trying to teach her son to pee standing up. She used to let him go to the back yard and have him aim at the bottom of a tree in the very back of their backyard. That way you can let him practice aiming without having to worry about cleaning up a huge mess in the bathroom.

If you know when he's got to go try to go with him and if he's really gotta go bad I don't think he'll have a hard time holding it in when he's right there in front of the toliet. My brother is 16 years younger than me and I had to work with him. (My mom worked full time, I was the full time babysitter) It's not easy and the holding came later, he would just point and shoot for a long time.
good luck!

He will do it naturally when he's ready.
How old is he ?
I'm guessing potty training age...about 2-2 1/2

When my son was a little over 2 he just decided one day he was done with diapers and was big enough to do it his self...right after I just bought a jumbo pack and only used a few.

I have a nine (9) year old, as he was starting his potty training, and began sitting, after he felt comfortable and was dominating this he decided to do this like "daddy" standing up, so i think it is more a situation of when the time is right his male inst. and role model, he will follow naturally.
Good luck with potty training!!!!!!!!

I say throw a few cheerios in the toilet and let him play "target" practice! Make it a little game for him. Children learn better when they do not know they are learning!

I've heard that if the father shows them how (actually peeing in the toilet) boys will be more willing to do it

My guess is that he will figure that out eventually on his own. Don't worry about it. Besides, do you really want him peeing all over the place?
