Yes, the rays given off by the television are damaging to your eyes, Computer also has the same effect if you focus too much on your computer or television.

No, television does not affect your eyesight in the sense of making it blurry or distorted. It can however lead to eyestrain, due to focusing on the screen for too long. This simply just your eye muscles getting sore and fatigued.

It can, but there would have to be prolonged exposure over many years.
The difficulty is that the eye remains focused on the screen rather than focusing on objects at different distances as it would in normal vision.
This can cause the muscles that focus the eye to gradually weaken causing the need for spectacles.

Yes, if it's an old picture tube type and you sit up close. It also affects the brain if you watch too much. It takes away the ability to think. It also affects the body. Makes you fat.
