Boy or girl, you will most likely be protective, what you need to do is raise your son or daughter (when you have one) to be a decent person with good morals who is not afraid to make his or her own decisions and after that all you can do is pray for the best. Not to be crude but my husband says about our kids (2 boys and 1 girl), it is easier to keep track of one penis then it is a thousand. Which is his theory behind never letting our daughter leave the house (she is only three now) but eventually she will want to go out. I honestly think that every dad is overprotective of their little princesses. But like I said before you do the best you can and then let go and pray that you did a good enough job.

I love the way your question starts, a girl for a child, lol.
Don't be overprotective with your kids if you want to have a good relationship with them as they grow up. The best way to make sure your daughter doesn't let anyone treat her the wrong way is to lead by example.
Treat your partner and children with the respect they deserve and they won't let anyone else treat them different.

You already have your answer. From my experience life has a way of bringing things full circle. You should always be respectful of the women in your life and treat them as you'd have your mom, sister, or daughter treated. The female is someones mother, or sister, or daughter. Even tho you don't have a daughter now you might someday and if you do its a sure thing someone will treat her the way your treating that daughter. You might think you can protect her but some things are out of your control. My advice starting NOW-treat the people in your life with utmost respect. It will come full circle one day.

Girls are way funner then boys... so far anyway.

My daughter has been a joy to have.
I wish I would have been a better big brother to my sister when I was growing up... maybe that's why I am trying to be the best dad I can for my daughter.

My son was fun... but my daughter has me by my heart strings :)

Since it is the male that decides the sex of the baby I suggest you don't have sex at all. There is no way to pick and choose what sex a baby will be, science hasn't come that far yet. So if you don't want daughters don't have sex.

Well unless you can predict what sex your child will be it's still a 50/50 boy/girl out come!

I am sure you will love your child NO MATTER what sex it is.

As for being over protective. That will wear off, I HOPE! You don't want to smother your child. They have to learn things on their own within reason of course. You want them to learn independence and common sense.

Makes ya think about how women are treated when you think about them as someone who should be protected from someone like yourself. The real question is how will you treat the next one you want to bed now that your eyes have opened to the truth?

A.) I think like this - I know what men are too.
B.) Maybe start to consider that every girl and woman is someone's beloved daughter and oughtn't to be 'treated like that'?
C.) Build a gun-turret in your front bedroom.

It all depends on how you raise them. I have to kids and yes I'm overprotective, but I want them to grow to have fun to be safe and clean. It's tough, but so much fun at the same time.
