Although it won't be officially recognised (like Uni degrees from Oz, USA, and elsewhere in europe), it will almost certainly be accepted as an equivalent. The only issue might be that the power grid runs on a different voltage. This could mean that you'll need to do some re-training before someone will take you on.

Well I'm from the UK and when our guys come to OZ they have to take further training and tests, so I'm only guessing but you might have to do the same as things are different in both countries. Go to the home office website and check it out.

You will be able to find work however I think there will be restrictions on the type of work you can take on. You should look into sitting the UK electrical licensing tests as soon as you can so that your employment (and income) aren't limited.
