I want to opt for "lighter" brands. Any worth? Or they are same lung affecting, health degrading sh*t (oops) as the normal ones?

True@42.
In my country here too, the Gov ordered them not to name as Lights, Super lights and anymore.
Which means that all of them have the same effect! Same poison, under another name. LIGHT!

Depends on the brand. Marlboro uses a rather manipulative technique: The fiberglass filters are simply perforated causing more air inhalation with each "drag."

In other words, holes are punched in the filter causing smokers to inhale less of the toxic tobacco smoke with a proportional 'hit'

In fact, if you look closely at a Marlboro light you can see the perforations approximately half way between the top and bottom of the filter. Other than that, there is no difference in the tobacco or the nicotine content within the cigarette

You've probably heard it 10,0000 times about the dangers of cigarette smoking in general. Well, I can definitely say that ANY and ALL types and brands of cigarettes are just individual nails for the smokers coffin.
I hope you are able to gain wisdom from that. (Also, take into account the non-smokers, 2nd hand smoke is a BIG killer)-FACT-And worse yet.....the smoker cannot smell the residual smoke and odors even half as much as a Non-smoker, so sometimes smokers think by blowing smoke in different direction, or out of window will ensure the safety of the non-smoker simply because the smoker doesn't smell it as acutely-I smoked for well over 16 years, when I became pregnant I quit cold turkey (not fun, BUT definitely doable) and for all the years that my husband was with me before I became pregnant, he ALWAYS insisted that he could smell the smoke strongly, even if I hung outside of a window-I NEVER gave him the benefit of the doubt, and always told him he was just a ball-breaker (a loving one at that for sticking around with me for smoking reasons alone)-Well, after I quit, and cleaned house in preparation for Jr., I was literally gobsmacked at the smells-The smokey smells were in everything, literally-From rugs to wallpaper, etc. Boy, did I have to eat crow for that one!!!!!
I wish you good wisdom and good health.
(And remember, if you need a cig, think of a good joke, get some fresh air, etc.)Actually, once having spent 2 weeks in hospital, I came out a non-smoker (there was strictly NO smoking, NO exceptions, and I'd been caught out more than 3 times and even repremanded, so I went 2 whole weeks without one puff-The pain I was in actually distracted me from the smoke-desires and w/drawal-When I walked out of the hospital, discharged, I smelt the world again for the first time in years, and like a total moron.........what did I do????-Yep, I smoked, and not only smoked, but doubled up in rebellion (to who or what, I've no clue)and smoked 3 and 1/2 packs a day from that day on.

Doctor's say that "light" brands are as damaging to your health as regular cigerattes. In fact, they can be worse because you inhale deeper to get your nicotine hit. It is a cheap sales strategy, that´s why some countries (EU) has banned labling cigerettes as light.

Why does it really matter? I mean if people want to spend more money than others on clothes than its there choice. One true reason that teens shop at all these brand stores is because the quality is better and they have more styles than wal-mart. Some people wear brand clothes because they wanna be cool but other people wear because there better and more comfortable than the clothes from wal-mart. Ok, so what it just has a moose on the bottom...ur not the judge of what other people wear, its just their style and liking. I shop at abercrombie, a & e and all these brand stores, and let me tell you there is a difference between the jeans you buy at abercrombie and wal-mart.

Branded light cigarettes are light, but that does not mean that u can not get lung cancer. Cigarette smoking is injurious to health whether they are light or not.
