My cat chub chubs did the same thing! what happend was it was hot so i thought id put him in the pool with me foe a little bit because he doesn't mind water, i put him in for mabey 2 minutes. The next day he was acting weird and keeping his mouth opend and looked like he couldn't breath and had a snotty nose, i thought he was going to die from the yakking noise he was making so i kept him inside and gave him some of my daughter antibiotics (little bit less than 1/2 a tea spoon of amoxacelien) rubed a dab of vicks vapor rub on his nose and kept a whatch over him, within a couple of days he was better but i was so scared he was going to die & at the time i diden't have the money to take him to th vet so i had to work whith what i had, i belivied he had caught namonia from him being hot to getting wet all of a sudden, hes all better now. (It might just be a hair ball too)

okay it does sound like an upper respiratory problem, first is your kitty indoor or outdoor? sounds like her nose is stopped up and a main problem with that for kitties is eating, if they cannot smell food they do not want to eat it, usually if you take them to the vet (wich you should do if you can afford to) they will give them amoxicillian drops to clear up the infection now cats usually recover from this, however they still tend to get it occasionally. feel her ears if they are hot she has a fever, now i am not a vet but if you cannot afford the vet, what i have done in the past is if have a tablet of pen v k, or amoxicillian i cut it into about an 1/8 of the tab then grind it down and put it in a tablespoon of milk and get them to take it, now i have only done this if my kitty is really sick and i have no money and i cannot get them to the vet, i cannot say for you to do this though, maybe call a vet you know or a friend knows and mention this and see what they recommend. eme if you need any help , god bless and let me know how your baby is

Your cat has an upper respiratory infection and you need to take it to the vet and get some medicine as soon as possible. It will not get better on it's own. When you get the medicine - ask the vet t show you how to give it - because it is not easy - and since it will be an antibiotic - you need to give ALL the does - and not just quit because the cat stops sneezing. GO TO VET SOON. God Luck - hope your cat gets better. Please DO NOT GIVE HUMAN medicines to your cat - could kill it - if you don't know what you are giving.

I agree..go to a cat doctor if there is one in your area...or at the least call a vet!Keep your cat hydrated as panting will make it lose its natural hydration/water. i've actually sponged my cat with luke warm water, esp. her face and mouth-gently. My girl had the same symptoms and was found to have allergies. she has special food -wet and dry - made by Royal Canin (only from vets) and prefers rabbit and green peas which are foods cats would eat in the 'wild'. Also, just like having a child with allergies, you may need to vacuum/dust. Sorry about the cleaning...hope you both feel better!

It sounds like what My Cat has had--and seems to be getting again--(I am taking mine in today as well)
Pneumonia...or something with the respiratory tract=
I would take your cat to the Dr-Today--
Check its ears do they seem to be hot to the touch?--What about the paw pads..are they hot?--If so this can be a sign of a fever--
Is he eating and acting normally--or different? Sleeping More than usual?=Mark all the signs down and call your vet-take him in ASAP==Cats can get very sick very fast!
Hope this helps--and I hope your cat gets to feeling better-

well all i can tell you is that everyday from work you should care for it. and maybe you should go see the vet. but keep it away from any animals that have the same thing then the cat will get the cold worse. and you might never know that is a cold or not. but as soon as you have your lunch break i suggested that you go home and care for it!

there is for sure something incorrect which includes your cat and needs medical interest. in case you won't be able to get him to the vet till the following day, attempt to get some foodstuff into him or he will decline better. you should attempt a pureeing some foodstuff (blend it with some water) or feeding infant foodstuff (meat purely - no longer something extra) once you've any. If he nevertheless gained't eat or drink, purely save him mushy, go away him on my own and produce him to the vets first ingredient contained in the morning.

They get colds too, treat her well and watch over her. Uing a natural remedy may help kitty, menthol vapors, I won't put vicks in an area were a cat would lick it off.

Take it seriously. maybe he can't breeze because of the heat, or maybe something is stuck in his throat, or maybe he got a cold... The better thing to do is going to the vet very soon
