Honda and Toyota, hands down. Other makes have good and bad model lines, but none of them even come close to Honda and Toyota when it comes to brand-wide reliability.

Toyota and Honda. Never buy a Ford. I had a Ford and 600 miles after the warranty expired, the transmission went out! I fought with ford executives for weeks, Finally I had to pay. The day I picked my car up after repairs, I traded it for a Camry. I have not had one problem or complaint with the Camry.

Volvo. screw honda/toyota/nissan. You said reliable, go with Volvo and save on the upkeep expenses of those other 3 (any car will last forever if you spend the money to keep it in shape, volvos require much less maintenance than these other cars).
