I'm old school, n nowadays alot of kids could use a good old fashioned spanking. I believe a child's opinions count but I also believe that there is too much permissiveness and not enough respect for each other as individuals. manners have gone out the window and out of control children are so the norm that no one seems to know what to do to stop this. Spanking when done correctly for the right reasons, is an excellent form of discipline.

Yes when my children were small I spanked the "living sh*t" out of them, especially if I caught them in the street or playing with matches. They all grew up to be well adjusted people. Now as adults, they laugh about how they used to compare the welts on their legs after a spanking.

Ocassionally, but not often, really. What punishment they receive depends on the nature of their "offense". Fortuantely, my kids are relatively very well behaved--an issue for which we and they are often complimented--so they rarely every do anything that warrants a spank.

NOPE ! I got spanked, golfed, whacked, hit, the belt, beaten up, and abused as a child ! some folks pass this on to their children, I won't, I refuse to, IT WAS HELL AS A CHILD ! It's my job now as a parent to make sure that this never happens to another child

If you do, make sure you are level headed and know what you are doing, be consiously aware of amount/frequency - how it complements your overall child management 'strategies'.... and of course find a better way (instead of spanking).

no wud u like it if someone spanked u if u did somethin naughty or answered back no u wudnt so y do it to an innocent child that doesnt fully understand????

No. My "kids" are my preschool students. There are much more effective ways to discipline a child without laying a hand on them.

I don't and now that my 3 kids are teenagers I regret not doing it.I hit one of them and they go crazy like the world is gonna end or something.
