Please help us! We recently inherited a new poodle mix from which my girlfriend's sister got from the pound. We also have a cockapoo whom we've had for almost 2 years now. First week we received Tango (the poodle mix) he was great, Bo and Tango got along great, even when left alone for an hours or so. However, today we left them alone for an hour or two, to go to a Dr's appointment. When I came back we found Bo covered in pee cowering in the corner of the dining room!!! We got him washed walked them both for about half an hour and we left them a bit to have dinner, once again coming home to the same thing!!! What caused this new behavior?! This never happened before!! Please help!!!!!

The new dog is establishing dominance. By peeing on the older dog, it's basically making it the prison b*tch. He's decided to take the role of alpha dog and the older one is beneath him. Ever hear of the term pee-on? It's usually used in the workplace to describe the lower workers? The ones that get abused? Same thing. You're looking at problems in the future. I don't know how old the new dog is, but if it's young, it's just starting to feel its way through the hierarchy of the pack and he's decided your dog is beneath him. This is not going to create a fair situation for the dog you had before. If the dog was cowering, something more than being peed on happened while you were out. I'd find the new dog a new home, one without any other dogs.

You pet Bo has been your only pet for 2 years and then you bring a new pet into his house...He is peeing on Tango to show him this is my house and i am the boss...He may feel like Tango is a replacement for him...Start showing Bo alittle more attention for awhile and let him know,That no one is going to take is place in the family...After a while start taking Bo and Tango on small walks and then maybe a 75minute walk...Start making a walk with both pets and everyday thing...And sooner or lately Bo and Tango will bond...Take them in the backyard and play ball with both pets and make up games with Bo and Tango...You will end up with 2 great pets...Hey,I like Bo and Tango's names, they seem to go together... GOOD LUCK THINGS SHOULD WORK OUT FOR YOU...

I think the poodle is marking his territory like the others said it is very common. Also you should keep then seporated unless you'r home so you can watch them and if you see the poodle about to pee on the poor little dog stop him and take him for a walk. That should work.Good Luck with the problem.:)

Tango is trying to establish dominance over Bo. Feed them together, in seperate bowls at the same time. Not free-range feeding. Give them plenty of outdoor time with you so you can make sure they potty. You may have to crate one or both of them.

LoL well.. the new dog is marking his territory or something, mabey you need to keep them separated because poor BO doesn't need to be getting peed on, that was his home first not Tango's I wouldn't like if it someone brought someone new home & they where peeing all over me I would want to kick there @$$ or leave! "poor doggy!"

he is just trying to mark his territory and it is quite common for dogs to do this. My suggestion would be to keep them seperated for a week or so and also let the new dog sleep in the offenders bed whilst he is not present and the odour on his bedding will make him accept the porr little fella.
