Depends...there is Early Head Start, Head Start, Private preschool, public preschool and then regular school (kindergarten). They all have different starting ages (0-6).
If you are talking about kindergarten, his age may play a factor. For instance, my husband's birthday is less than a week from the cut off date and his mom decided that she would keep him home one more year because he just wasn't ready...so he was actually 6 when he started kindergarten. Just varies from child to child.

I started at 2, some schools (private ones mostly) require you to start at certain age, and sometimes they even have waiting lists, but my fiance started at 5 to go to Kinder

This depends where you are and how your son is developing is social abilities...

u have not mention the age of ur son .firstly he has go to playway school.For that the right age is 2.5 to 3.5After that he can get admission in any higher secondary school.But these days most of the "public" schools have nursery already so u can straight way make him to join that school.Age limit is same.For L.K.G. its 3.5 to 4.5.Gud Luck

there are preschools that offer half day school for three year olds, but it's not payed for by the state like kindergarden (five years old) is
