Can you too really laugh at something heartily, meaning it, but then stop it dead in a split second? Or is it only normal for laughter to die down gradually?
Just wondering if I'm psychotic, that's all :o)

That's awesome! I guess it depends on the situation. If you cannot stop laughing it probably means there is no need to. For instance if someone held a gun to your head while you were laughing, you would likely become scared and stop laughing. But if they held a squirt gun to your head, you are likely to continue.
In certain social situations it may be inappropriate to laugh but sometimes the fact that you're laughing inappropriately becomes funny in and of itself.
I think it is possible to stop laughing instantly but only when fear or other undesirable emotions become present, or if you possess great control.

A really huge laugh that comes to a dead stop sounds fake. Almost like you are being sarcastic about it.

I just laugh really hard and then stop but I don't know I guess it depends on the joke and the person.

depends on the person. i know this person who laughs like ernie from sesame street and that's his real laugh. i think that's pretty psychotic too, but you can't change the way someone laughs can you?

i do that too, and people find it very creepy and strange, but i feel unnatural sometimes letting a laugh "die down" for some reason.

i sometimes laugh histerically and then stop dead for no reason. i think it's normal. although i have a lot of issues, so who knows.
