we mean, dont be lazy in bed, just once then you sleep like baby and forget that she is besides you. Let her tell you that she is now full and then you can rest.

Assertive isn't about punching someone who looks at your girlfriend, as some seem to think.

I understand how it can be confusing sometimes, as we women can fluctuate between 'don't tell me what to do!' and 'I wish you were more assertive'.

A couple of ideas which should help you walk the fine line:
i) instead of always asking her what she wants to do on an evening/weekend, why don't you say 'I think it would be nice to go to XXXXX, what do you think?'. You're not ordering her around, but you've got your own ideas
ii) every now and again, book something without telling her (something that you're sure she'll like - cinema, theatre, weekend away) and surprise her with it. Shows confidence and a can-do attitude
iii) If you and she have an argument, don't give in just because it's easier - if it's obvious that you just want an easy life, that's when we think you're a bit wet. State your views and tell her you're willing to compromise but that X, Y and Z are simply not acceptable. Be firm. If she's not used to it, she may kick up a fuss the first couple of times but leave her to cool down then come back to resume discussions. Don't just hope it goes away (also wet)

Basically, have your own views, have the initiative to do things without her asking/telling and remember that this is your life too, and so you have to get what you want out of it - no giving her her own way for an 'easy life'

We like men to have a mind and opinions of their own. If you are the type to be agreeable just for an easy life, try being assertive about something once in a while. It can be something as simple as where you are going to go for a meal, or best of all what you are going to do in the sack! You will surprise yourself and your lady and you'll both love it. Just remember to have a sense of fun with it!

I think what we are looking for is someone who can react and take charge of situations in a positive way standing around like a wall flower with no confidence when your girl is complaining in a shop for instance, making us order food in a resturant cause you cant speak to the staff little things like that diminish men in girls eyes it may not be very pc but we do actually like a strong personality just be more confident and you should be fine.

Take the lead, tell her to get ready by x time as your going out, then take her for a nice walk and a little place for a meal xx if you live together, get on with that silly job u have been putting off xx tell her what you want, and listen to what she has to say, to be assertive you need to listen well, and use these 3 principles for dealing with any thing, I think.......I feel..... I want .......good luck xx

Well just be a little more manly. This means I think:
Harder
Stronger
Not so soft

I'm not to sure really as I have never asked my hubby to be manly.

Sorry I did not help much.

This means to take the lead occassionaly - like organising nights out off your own back - book a table, ring your woman tell her be dressed up for 8 o clock as you'll pick her up then - and take her out as a nice surprise.
Men rely way to much on us women to organise everything from the shopping to booking a holiday - occassionaly we DO like to lie over and be submissive letting the men be the dominant ones! It just gets tiring when you have to organise EVERYTHING!

manly gestures, be sensitive enough , be gentleman even in simple ways e.g. when walking in streets let her stay beside the sidewalk not close to the car then u can take that position close to the roads, asking what she likes everytime. carry her things if its heavy * not exaclty all of it but help her*, when walking, let her go first dont leave her behind. its not good. =/

Wow, you need help from WOMEN about your OWN masuclinity. Sorry but if this is what you have come to you are beyond hope. The very fact you ask this question exemplifies your pussiness. I would say re-attach your balls but you obviously never had any to begin with. Pathetic.

This is a tough one. We basically want Guys... The kind of guy that isn't afraid of spiders and doesnt' laugh at us if we see one and scream. The supportive kind of guy that believes in our dreams. Assertive by definition means confident and self-assured. We like guys that like themselves, the ones that take care of themselves are extremely hot. We like confidence in a guy, but not to the point that the guy becomes conceited. Most girls do not like needy guys. We dont' find it attractive if a guy is unsure of himself. He should walk around like he owns the world, but not actually believe that in his mind. He should be caring. He should be kind. He should be honest and loving. He should trust his girl.

sticking up for himself and his women.... being alittle more assertive when you go out. Just the way you talk to people, or if you want something, you have an attitude like "i get what I want" but be careful, dont try too hard, otherwise you go overboard, and thats just annoying
