i totally agree that kids should be rewarded for doing their homework correctly, and perhaps be given the day off school for doing so or perhaps a computer game of their choice. if however this were implemented there should also be a punishment for not doing it "correctly and accurately". i would suggest that the offending child be flogged senseless with a knotted rope. but then again i'm old school

Doing homework correctly and accurately is always rewarded sometimes directly sometimes indirectly in the form of grades or marks which a student gets in the exams or routine test. Homeworks are meant for getting a students prepared and apply his own efforts in the process of learning

It all depends on the standard expected of you and the standards you have for yourself.
Afterall there are thousands of things you could write about the back of your hand for example. If you wrote about two of those things accurately but not in much depth and another person had investigated 10 of them in depth and accurately then they would be a long way down the road to gaining some real good grades in all sorts of subjects - anatomy, physiology, art, dermatology, haematology, growth, poetry, creative writing, mathematics (who has never counted on their fingers?). I suppose what I'm trying to say is learn how to do homework and youll be good at doing homework. Learn how to learn and you'll learn and gain so much more besides.

Yes and no. When children are at a young age, then I agree. You boost the kids self confidence and willingness to do better. But if over rewarding is used too often, then you could almost be spoiling the kid in to thinking that the "real" world does the same. What a shocker he/she would receive if he/she didn't get that pay rise he/she was banking on.

The reward that you get is pride that you accomplished something. That is one of the things that life is about--accomplishing things that you motivate yourself to do. On the same token, you shouldn't be given presents or more than a "Good Job" comment from anyone. You don't deserve a circus act every time you do something you are supposed to do. Give yourself a pat on the back and move on to the next thing you have to get done.

I don't know, in theory you should be, but it is what's expected of you - like how your mum doesn't always get rewarded for hanging the washing out. I never used to like the fact that in school anyone who didn't do their home got shouted at and the ones that did were just ignored - so I see your point.

No, you should not be rewarded for doing what is merely expected of you. However, there is a reward in the benefit of the knowledge you gain from doing your homework.

It depends.
If the kid has been consistently bad, but then starts to improve, of course must reward.
And for a kid who's been doing well all the time, rewarding the kid would be good, and encouraging him to do even better than what he does would also be good.
So yep. :D
