There is every religion on earth asking questions on here for some reason or the other.

It's called "Freedom of Speech"!

If they come to your door you don't have to respond. If they ask you if you want to come to their Church, you don't have to respond.

It's called "Freedom of Choice".

Yahoo Answers is an open forum that allows everyone to ask whatever they want.

It's called "Free Press".

Perhaps you should hang a sign on your front door and add an attachment to all your Yahoo Answers that says that you don't accept any religious contact. That way all those Christians won't bother you so much. And you can carry on with YOUR religion and have no questions whatsoever of rather their is a religion out there that may suit YOUR purpose in life.

I think this brings up an interesting point is that, as far as I'm aware, Christianity is the only faith that believes if you don't follow it, you're going to hell. I mean, many religions have concepts of underworlds and afterlifes, but I don't recall there being something saying "If you don't follow the will of Odin, you're going to HELL!"

And I do know that the muslim faith apparently has the "if you're a martyr you're rewarded" but I'm not sure whether it believes if you fail to believe you're going to hell (though America is apparently the great satan, so probably). What about Judiasm? I don't think they even HAVE a hell.

So, is it just that Christianity is the only reason that has a valid reason for evangelism? I suppose so, but it's sort of a self-justifying trait. It does justify why Christians evangelize, but it doesn't say that the rest of us can't ask them to please shut up and go away. But this is Yahoo answers in the religion section: If you're here, you're going to find Religious questions on both sides of the issues; complaining about that is a bit hypocritical I'd say...

But then again, I try and approach ALL questions logically and without malice, regardless of whether or not I agree with the asker or not. It's just my own personal world view.

I, as a Christian, am sorry if I have offended anyone by encouraging people to think about God. I believe wholeheartedly that there is only 1 way to be absolutely certain of what will happen after we die, and that is to have faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
I look forward to Heaven being a very crowded place. I don't want to see anyone miss out, but I know that a lot of people will because they have been duped in this life into believing something other than the truth.
Looking forward to seeing you there
B

Because Jesus said to spread the Word to others, so that they may hear it and be saved. And he also said "if anyone is ashamed of me before men, I shall be ashamed of them before God and the angels in Heaven".

Chances are those people "bothering" you have good intentions. You can choose to ignore them if you want, but on Judgment Day, you'll have to explain why you refused to believe what Jesus taught (at least, that's what Christians will say to you, but other religions will probably also have something similiar).

As far as I know, God gave us free will to choose whether to accept Him or not. And as you can probably see, humans tend to act bad most of the time, and if it wasn't for laws and the promise of salvation, no one would really want to do anything for others if they didn't somehow benefit from it in this world (although you could probably say that about "rich" christians too, who continually ask for donations from people but don't do much to help others).

Well, if you found gold, would you share it? Most people wouldn't be willing to share something so precious, but at least the Christians are loving enough to let you know they care.

Just take it that way; it's not intended to offend.

Not all the people coming to your door are Christians. Jehovah's Witnesses do that as well, and so do some others.
