I'll assume he walked away before I could say 'thank you'. I'd spend the next half-hour with warm fuzzies. Then I'd try to make sure I passed on a compliment to someone else. Who knows? I might have been having a bad day and that compliment might have been just what I needed. I'd then try to make someone else's day.

It's not so much about him being normal, honestly who's to say what is normal. If there was an attraction, I would be flattered and if there wasn't even a remote possibility of attraction, I would just walk away; maybe even run.

You should be happy. Most girl's don't hear that stuff, well I don't. You need to say THNX to that person, tell him that you think that's a real compliment.

i would smile and say thanks. but take your comment as an insult as you have no idea who i was or why i was truly beautiful, to take a womans appearance and to judge her for comment solely on her outter beauty makes you just a common male. but to know her insides and to have a comment as such would be a compliment, women arent as stupid as men like to percieve them as such

That happened to me!!!!! I felt really good because it was about me being beautiful and not about him trying to get in my pants. I felt like it was an honest statement.
