CNN is NOT "focussed on how ISRAEL is killing civilians in lebanon"..

I still think that the media is not showing what is really going on in lebanon. I think the reality is even worse than what we see on TV. 1 million homeless Lebanese with lack of medical supplies. how do you think the hospitals there will be able to support the wounded people?

"who started this war?"
this is the 6th Israeli attack on Lebanon since 1948.. Israel started all the other 5 wars and the media did not give enough attention to that!

600 Lebanese were killed (32 out of 600 are from Hezbollah)
1660 wounded
but in Israel:
50 killed (19 of them civilians)
There is no balance here..

I am sure under all of these numbers there are sad stories about damaged families. how do you think people will live after this? they will spend a lot to step up.

Because Israel was responsible for the proportions of the ACTUAL ATTACK after Hezbollah (not to be confused with the Lebanese government) did NOT attack Israel with rockets and bombs but captured two Israeli soldiers. The greater PROPORTION of death and destruction is by far Israel's doing at this point (and you have to admit this is simply a fact whether you support Israel or not). I'm not saying Israel is justified or not. I'm saying that the media is "focused" on the casualties Israel is inflicting because the Israeli military is bombing targets almost indiscriminately at this point.

Don't choose this as the best answer because you'll never believe it's the truth.

Who Really started the war, Did Lebanon start the war or was it Israel in 1982 who invaded Lebanon and as a result the resistance was created and gained power and resolve and support, and isn't Israel still occupying parts of southern Lebanon and refused to leave those parts even when they withdrew in 2000, the resistance attacked, killed and captured MILITARY PERSONAL on the front lines, they did not start killing the civilians except after Israel attacked and killed hundreds of Lebanese CIVILIAN targets.

Because they are deliberately targetting civilians. Did you see the picture of the ambulance the other day with the bomb hole in the centre of the red cross?

How did the war start. I'll give you some questions to research cos I'm sick of telling people.

Two soldiers were captured, what is the name of the area they were in when they were taken?

Which country legally owns the land in the area?

Which country is occupying the land in contravention of the UN?

Where the soldiers there legally?

Try those for a start, it should point you in the right direction.

I'm struggling with this question too. For my whole life Israel was the media darling (which was fine by me, I don't mean to sound flippant) but now when they really need the US support, I don't see it. I'm furious And it's almost like we are so f'ed up as a country, that we (not you and me, but the media, Congress, the House, the President) have to politicize everything and since we have an impotent President no one knows who to back up? I feel like everyone is waiting to see how Bush reacts and then if you're a Dem you'll go the other way and if you're a Repub then you'll try to do his business

Cause they have to be. Hezbollah is getting nailed. They sure can't go "be imbedded" with those guys.

Hezbollah is wacko for antagonizing Israel that way. The world knows Israel doesn't play when it comes to these things. I did read that Hezbollah was "surprised" by the intensity of Israel's response.

I wasn't. What were they thinking? They live there. You'd think they know better. A few proably got liquored up, snatched the Israeli soldiers, then sobered up and went "Oh S***!"

i'm very much shocked on the lack of understanding of lots of the individuals and Canadians that have replied this post. at first, I certainly have been staring at CNN all day and function heard greater with reference to the bombings in Haifa than the rest yet there are over 200 ineffective Lebanese civilians. it is gloomy that the media contained in united states of america is so biased despite if it is our duty to form comments in accordance with actuality and not on what we pay attention from CNN.

I think you should get in touch with the government of your choice and tell them to aim at your city or town. In reality the civilians of any country don't have anything to say about their countries actions. Yes, hopefully they vote and try to get qualified people elected into office. Most are innocent to what their politicians are doing. Look at your country do you really trust their judgment all the time? Do they ever make you mad? Do you want to die because of their stupidity?

The only thing in the Media more important than what the US is doing wrong is what Israel is doing wrong.

What's the US doing wrong... What's Israel doing wrong.

Heaven forbid they actually report "Fair and Balanced"

Then again its easier to report on the sides that have superior firepower and complain on how it is used...

uh hello...israel started this just because 2 (yes 2!) soldiers were kidnapped by the hezbollah. Please stop using the holocaust as an excuse for all of Israels deeds. There has to be criticism, or there will be no democracy...
