A little chat here and there is nice, but this guy is a cotton-pickin' ratchet jaw! How can I politely tell him to stick a sock in it?

Well..one fine day..say to him.."can I buy you lunch today?"
At this "lunch"..before either of you order, say.."I have no intentions of buying you lunch..food...a drink..anything. What I want to tell you is this.."if you open your mouth, in my presence, and blather on about this, that and the other thing..ONE MORE TIME..I am going to take a dull chainsaw and attempt to give your testicles the "South Beach" look. Failing that..I'll settle for blood, flaps of ball sack and urine and sperm samples on the polycarbonate shield of my Husqavarna manly cutting $hit up helmet. Oh...I'll be needing that sock I told you to "stick in it" to blot up the blood on my helmet and fuel tank"

That might ring a bell or two.....

What I do is wait for the chatty person to go back to their area when they realize that they have to get some work done and that's when I let loose and chat away. If they say something about having to get some work done, then that's when I pop off and mention that he doesn't care if anyone else gets any work done.

OR-whip up a memo from the "boss" about the constant chatting going on in the office and everyone is being watched and listened to.

If you have a problem with co=workers I suggest that you carry an iPod or an MP3 player at all times!

If that does not work, try the following alternatives:
1. don't entertain his noisy blabbering
2. bash his head using a blunt piano leg-with the piano attached
3. tell him to shut up or you'll let him be kidnapped by the Hezbollah guerillas
4. three words: "Buzz off bozo."
5. two words: "You suck!"
6. Tell your boss and ask him to fire that (continuous stream of curse words) blabbermouth.

There is someone like this in my life -- constantly talking about nothing all day long. I have tried distraction, tried annoying him right back, asking politely, bribing, begging, reasoning, threatening -- but I find that the only effective way of getting someone like this to shut their pie trap is with a whiffle ball bat to the head.

This is a true story. It happened just yesterday. I was outside with my neighbor, who is so outrageously talkative, but never about anything but him and his plans. (ever known a 'planner'? well if they'd keep their mouths shut sometimes, their plans might actually be feasible...they spend their energy on talking and the plans are different every day) OK, so after he goes on and on and finally got around to making me mad enough, I just got up and walked into the house. I told my daughter that I just couldn't stand this another minute, and "how am I going to go back out there and take it some more?" and finally, "OMG, I just WALKED AWAY from him" so I went back out, and Honest to God, he was still sitting there talking. He never even knew I left. I've known him awhile and I bet he couldn't tell you ONE THING about me.

Shut the pie whole for him DURRRR!!!!!!!!!! lol

Some people never change you can't really change someone like that so what you do is try to find ways to annoy him back turn up a song he or she hates and play it over and over then watch the person indure all of the pain you have lol jk no just be mature and try your best to ignore that person..........

If you cant bs being busy or having to make a call, then tell him that you've had your ear talked off all morning, etc, and that you are really wanting some peace and quiet

Type a note, not hand written, saying" We all think you talk way too much please be quiet so we can get some work done!" and slip it in his pocket or someplace to be seen by him.

Then he will always wonder who did that and it will make it fun for you because he don't know, haha.

As tempting as it might be to give him some abuse...probably the best thing to do is just say face to face..."you talk too much and it irritates me". He mightnt be aware of how it effects other people.
