Take a protein rich diet, apply oil to your scalp on a regular basis. Massage your scalp at least once every week with olive oil or coconut oil. Wash your hair with a good shampoo, preferably medicated/ayurvedic shampoo, you can also apply egg to your hair before shampoo. Hope this should help in growth of new hair. The key is, hair need a lot of protein. And always avoid harmful chemicals like dyes, hair colours, creams, gels, they only harm your precious hair. If you ever need to colour your hair, use hena, it is also a good nutrient.

I've read that cutting back on consumption of acidic food/drink can help. Apparently consumption (of moderate-to-high quantities) of citric acid may cause hairloss. Avoid consumption of food/drink high in citric acid such as tomatoes, lemons, oranges/orange juice, etc.

Also, frigid (ice cold) liquid may also contribute to hairloss. Consider, especially during summer, avoiding iced beverages. Drink water (or other liquids) at room temperature. Besides, drinking room temperature liquids is ideal for absorbtion and digestion regardless of whether or not it proves effective in restoring your scalp hair (as it requires less bodily energy)

Lastly, fatty foods (particularly foods high in saturated fat) seem to play a role in the realm of hair loss. AVOID fast food, fried foods, etc.* INCREASE consumption of (non-fried) fish, and foods high in protein such as beans.

*This has been evidenced in Japan, by the rapidly increasing rate of hairloss. Prior to WWII hairloss was extremely rare in Japan. Since WWII there has been a direct relationship between westernization of diet and increase in hairloss.

Hope this helps
