I sympathise with you..as if dieting isn't bad enough and often hard going, they go and suggest the dreaded 'Cottage Cheese',like you I hate the stuff,it's appearance alone make me feel sick..hey!..maybe that's why it's included in diets!LOL.
I finely grate some low fat cheese or have a small amount of the 'proper' stuff..us dieters suffer enough,so may as well throw in the occasional 'treat'..as the saying goes 'a little of what you fancy does you good'..I wish you every success with your diet.

Other cheeses will work as replacement just fine.
Even though I love cottage cheese with fruit, I can understand your situation. Because its not always easy eating "healthy" foods.
But, in all reality... I most certainly hate the "cottage cheese" on woman's thighs even more so. Needless to say, I stay motivated.
lol
Good luck!

Plain cottage cheese is not very tasty. Have you tried the kind with pineapple or peaches in it? They are quite good. Otherwise, try the non fat yogurt.

Cottage cheese is a good source of lean protein if you get the low fat kind. Try mixing drained pineapple tidbits in it, it makes it tastes better.

sprinkle some sweetener on it - you might like it! i use stevia (an all natural plant-based sweetener), but you could use splenda, equal, whatever. it changes the taste a lot. and the reason the diets use cottage cheese is because it is nutritious, good source of calcium and protein, low fat and low calories, and very low in sugars (whereas yogurt is higher in natural milk sugars and calories - and flavored yogurt is PURE sugar, so it defeats the entire purpose of the so-called diet).

You can substitute cottage cheese to tofu (soybean). Grilled tofu tastes good with a little olive, pinch of basil and rosemary and some crushed garlic.

Don't know if you can get smooth cottage cheese where you live but if so then put some sweet chilli sauce into the tub and dip your carrots/celery/cucumber or low fat crackers in it - yummy!

Have you tried something like Philadelphia? (You can get the 'light' variety). I understand what you're saying about cottage cheese - my sister had a very bad episode with a pot that had gone slightly off - yuk.

It is a good source of protein and amino acid and it is very low fat that is the reason why the diet program suggest it try to mix it with pineapple or onion and herb it taste better or alternatively you could eat tofu instead of it!
